Travelling back in time to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, Victoria. This past Summer, Mel and I had a short trip up to Ballarat in Western Victoria. We spent two nights staying in a rather shabby little unit in a caravan park. It was lots of fun though. Our first full day there, we visited Sovereign Hill. This is my third time visiting, but it was Mel's first. My favourite part of visiting Sovereign Hill is always, I am ashamed to say, the lollies. My gosh, those raspberry drops kick all other lollies butts. I bought three jars so they would last me the year. There is a lot more there than the lollies though, and we spent the whole day exploring what life was like back in 1854 when the Eureka Stockade occurred. I wouldn't mind getting to wear the gorgeous big dresses every day, but I sure wouldn't want the reality of life as a miner in the nineteenth century. It's fun to visit just for a short while though.
