What I am currently loving...

The Winter holidays are upon us and I am so grateful for them! Just having time to read and write and go out and take photographs has been fantastic. What are your plans for Winter?

CURRENTLY READING

The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas. My friend Madeleine recommended this book to me and I actually really loved it. It follows Starr, an African-American teenager living in  a pretty dangerous neighbourhood but attending a top private school. She witnesses her best friend get shot and killed by a police officer. The book delves into the consequences of that and what it means for her and her family. It certainly was a new perspective on the shootings you hear about on the news. So much of it was completely foreign to me, things like being afraid of the police and hearing guns go off every night. That's what good books do though, is open your eyes to another person's world and perspective. Definitely worth a read, don't be put off by the Young Adult tag.

The soundtrack to Safe Haven. It is a very mellow record perfect for making cakes in the kitchen.

CURRENTLY WATCHING

Set it Up on Netflix. Harper is my spirit animal through and through. Chuck her in a teaching position and she's me.

CURRENTLY EATING

Pistachio, cranberry and beef kebabs with coleslaw and feta. My gosh this was good. Trying to eat healthier this holidays and if all the recipes are like this then it'll be easy.
