Dappled light and deer. 

Wandering amongst the trees on my way to see the famous Buddha statue was one of my favourite moments in Japan. I say that a lot, because there were just so many favourite moments! Watching the light filtering through the trees, illuminating deer just waking up to the dawn was so peaceful. I stumbled across a police ceremony of some sort and watched with the deer as the troops marched around a clearing. Exploring places by foot is always my preferred option when travelling, you see so many odd and interesting sights.
