Right around the corner from Town Hall.
I still get so excited whenever I get to stay in a hotel. I think it has something to do with always going camping when we were kids. It was a very rare and exciting experience to stay in a hotel. I remember one trip where we had been travelling down from Alice Springs through the desert and we had just crossed back over in to Victoria. We stopped at Mildura and got to stay in a hotel rather than a tent. It was the biggest luxury. TV! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE camping, but after three weeks in a tent, I was ready for TV.
Our hotel in Sydney was your basic sort of hotel. Our room was called an "apartment" which really meant basic hotel room plus an extra sink and a kitchen bench. The view was pretty cool though, and the location was great. Later that night we would head to the top of that weird round building on a stick in the middle of the view for dinner. But more on that later.
