Buckingham Palace

Ah, the Queen's house. Well, one of them. This one is decidedly the most famous (I'll be sharing photos from another of her fabulous homes next week). I didn't go inside, as the flag was raised so the Queen was in residence. Standing out the front near the statue of Queen Victoria was impressive enough though! The palace is amazing, the amount of detail present is just astounding. We were lucky enough to have the royal carriages and horses riding by while we were being typical tourists (you really can't be anything but a tourist while standing in front of Buckingham Palace).

I certainly wouldn't mind living in such a glorious palace (though recent reports state that the palace is falling apart slightly, eek!). It is such an iconic London landmark, you really cannot miss it when visiting the city.

Buckingham Park

One of my favourite moments from London was walking through the parks around Buckingham Palace, throwing leaves into the air and laughing. In my brand new "British" winter coat (seriously, Australian coats just do not cut it in Europe), I felt like I could pass for a Londoner. Apart from the fact that I was running around throwing leaves and squealing at every squirrel I saw (more to come because, SQUIRRELS);. I'm fairly certain, judging from the looks I got, that most Londoners don't do that.

He Who Must Not Be Named

This is the very last post from the Harry Potter Studio Tour, I promise! It was just so much fun to go around taking photographs of everything, and rather than putting them in one MASSIVE post (which I absolutely detest), I split them up into themes. These photographs are of some of my favourite details from the tour. You really have to look when visiting the tour, there is so much to see that you'd be likely to miss something really amazing if you breezed through it.

Diagon Alley

In Diagon Alley, basically everything moves and it is awesome. Also, I learnt how to put fake snow on my windows and that is pretty magical.

In other, non-Harry Potter related news: it's my cousin's wedding today and I am off to go celebrate it! Have a fantastic weekend, and again, I apologise for the multitude of Harry Potter related posts. But really, I like it too much.

Sketch

These early models of the sets on the Harry Potter films make me want to pick up a sketch book and draw. I found them to be really gorgeous, not only because of how intricate they are, but because the informality and lack of bright colour appeals to me somehow.

Sigh, one day I may stop posting photographs from the Harry Potter Studio Tour but today is not that day. It was just way too awesome.
