Welcome to Hogwarts

"The entrance hall was so big you could have fitted the whole of the Dursley's house in it. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches like the ones at Gringotts, the ceiling was too high to make out, and a magnificent marble staircase facing them led to the upper floors...

'Welcome to Hogwarts,' said Professor McGonagall."

View From My Eye

Is there a better way to see a city than on a giant Ferris Wheel? I think not. The London Eye is definitely something I'd recommend. Yes, it's touristy. And yes, there may be a very large family on board with you whose kids like to yell things like "Mum I can see McDonald's!", but it's still worth it. Just look at that view. Seriously, take a second to appreciate it. That is London, England and I got to see it. Truthfully, I am still pinching myself.

Hallo London!

It has taken me a week to get this up, but here is the first post featuring photographs from my trip! I have many, many photos to share and stories to tell so bare with me. Hopefully you will enjoy them as much as I did.

My first experience of London was getting off the tube at Earl's Court, suitcase and carry on in tow, to see the TARDIS, nerd that I am. After that it was on to Paddington and our hotel to wash off the horrific twenty one hour flight that got us there. Nine hours of which I spent throwing up (do NOT drink the water they give you, my only flying advice). Our first day was spent wandering around Westminster. We saw all the sights, but Westminster Abbey was my favourite of the day. Poets corner in particular.

I drank raspberry hot chocolate while wandering along the bank of the Thames, watching the bustling tourist crowds take photos of each other in front of the Houses of Parliament. It was a perfect introduction to the city, topped off with a ride on the iconic London Eye (photos to come!).

There's no photographs of Big Ben here, I took some on a later day that I liked better than those captured on this very first day. These photographs are some of my favourite moments, as are all other photographs I post from my trip to Europe. It was so special to me, to be able to go overseas and have so many amazing experiences, but that does not mean that I am going  to share every single thing. So here are some of my favourites from my first taste of England.
