Tech city.

Akibahara is said to be the game nerd's absolute dream place. Since I play video games incredibly rarely (does Candy Crush count?), it didn't exactly hold a whole lot of appeal for me. It was fun to see all the bright lights and experience the excitement in the air however. I wandered through electronic stores and game centres where couples tried to win a prize on one of the many claw machines. 

I had dinner there one night, somehow landing myself in a German restaurant but too embarrassed to leave. I ate sausages and an apple filled with sorbet. It was odd considering I was in the middle of Tokyo but nice nonetheless. 

Despite it's reputation for being at the forefront of technology, Japan did not seem to have much of it around surprisingly. Even  here, in the hub of technology in Japan, I was encountering things we had years ago being sold as the best new product.
