Florence is one of my favourite cities, it is so different and unique yet at the same I feel as if I could live there quite comfortably. After some slightly tearful goodbyes, Melissa and I left Padova and embarked on the journey to Florence. It's lovely how fast it is to get anywhere in Italy, everything is so close by! The journey went super quick and soon I was back in one of my favourite cities: Firenze. This place is gorgeous, however our hotel was not. Looking back now, it makes me laugh. Actually, at the time it made me laugh a bit too. Our room was meant to be a double room. What we got was literally the attic at the top of a LOT of stairs with a bed slightly bigger than a single. Needless to say, we didn't get the best night's sleep whilst staying there. I still loved Florence though, despite the less than satisfactory accommodation. The food, for one, was amazing. Pasta, pizza, gelato and repeat. Our first afternoon there, Mel and I went shopping, naturally. We did a lot of shopping whilst in Firenze, too much probably. You can't not buy things though in a city filled with markets, boutiques, and specialty shops!
