“I loved the quiet places in Kyoto, the places that held the world within a windless moment. Inside the temples, Nature held her breath." - Pico Iyer Kyoto was every bit as fascinating and magical as people had led me to believe. My first afternoon there I wandered around Kyoto on foot, having deemed the bus system too difficult to navigate. I was trying to find my way to Gion, the famous Geisha district, in the hopes of spotting one of the illusive women. I wouldn't be able to till later on that week however, they're like lyrebirds in that sense! This was a temple I came across on my way there. It was huge, with multiple temples nestled inside a larger complex. I would see many temples during my stay in Kyoto, that eventually they all kind of blended in together apart from the really distinctive ones.
