Tails from the Bengal forest. Above the owl cafe in Harajuku was another kind of forest altogether, this time filled with cats!I got a drink from a vending machine (those things are everywhere in Japan) before sitting down on the floor to spend the next hour trying to get the cats to like me, to very little avail. They were incredibly sweet little beings, but I did feel very sorry for them because of their lack of toys and privacy. This was a recurring theme throughout my time in Japan, the people that I met there seemed to have very little respect for animals unfortunately. Not having experienced this on such a widespread scale before, it was a little shocking. I certainly wouldn't have coped if I had visited a zoo there I think! Despite my misgivings, the cats in the Bengal Cat Cafe were adorable, beautiful animals.
