Sacre Coeur

Sacre Coeur is actually blindingly white. Something I did not really expect. I also did not expect to be accosted by gypsies while there. As we were climbing up the stairs a group of men tried to "persuade" Mel and I to buy something or other by grabbing our arms. This resulted in Mel pulling out her bad-ass ninja moves (seriously, she knows Tae-Kwon-Do). Unfortunately though Mel's bracelet was broken and lost in the struggle! Rotten twits.

The cathedral itself is rather beautiful, as all churches seem to be in Europe (no brown brick 1970s churches there). The view was just as stunning, though my favourite part (La Tour Eiffel, don't judge) was missing to an intense haze that rested over everything. There was also a man playing La Vie En Rose on an accordion, touristy but charming all the same.
