"The Sun came up upon the left, Out of the sea came he! And he shone bright, and on the right Went down into the sea." - 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Last Thursday was spent down near the sea, eating chips and salt & pepper squid, taking photographs and mucking about on the playgrounds. It was nice. I like the sound of the sea, the way the waves splash up against the rocks, always fighting with them over something. Inverloch is very different in the Winter as apposed to the Summer. The crowds of tourists are non-existent, the only ones at the water are fisherman trying their luck and locals braving the cool winds to take their dogs for a walk. The whole atmosphere feels very different than in the warmer months. The ocean is a different colour, more of a mysterious grey than the bright blue it is in it's prime. I like the beach in Winter though, the lack of people and cold temperatures preventing the wearing of bathing suits is much more suited to my temperament. Photograph of me taken by Laura.
